Alderson House was established in 1996 by Joanna Alderson-Davies. Since then many things have changed, but much has stayed the same. Alderson House seeks to provide a place of comfort and security, while helping people manage their day to day lives. The ethos established by Jo remains; we avoid the term 'care' because support is what we are all about. Alderson House provides a specialised residential service - a home - for adults of working age with mental health needs. We provide everything you would expect in a residential care home, but the aim for each person is tailored to help meet their needs. Each person is directly involved in setting their own Support Plan. We provide the support to meet this plan, our aim however is not to 'do for' but to 'do with'. Some people just need that extra bit of help, some security and safety, while they recuperate and perhaps adapt before moving on to more independence. Some people find they are very happy, and stay with us for longer. Whatever you are looking for, talk to us. We will be glad to listen, and perhaps we can help. |
